Very cold and icy today
Peaceful place!
A place only one would dream of living
A must in Edinburgh for tourists and locals alike, it's a lovely little village in the heart of the city. I go by it every day on my way to work and I love it, it's very charming.
Stunning, historic area of Edinburgh, perfect for a break from the hustle & bustle of the city & a nice stroll along the river! :)
A lovely path close to city centre that anyone must visit.
Lovely part of Edinburgh although not much to do here but have a walk down by the side of the river. There is also a nice Well to look at. Be aware one of the foot bridges is closed at the moment.
Peaceful place
I don't know because I wasn't there. Maybe I sleepwalked into the Dean Village. This is so Black Mirror.
Would love to walk there every day
The best place to live. Just beautiful! Green, peaceful and yet bursting into life with people out and about. Water of Leith never fails to surprise you; small waterfalls, birds, skies and the bounty of Nature along with some man-made architectural treasures. Must be visited!
Very quaint and old fashioned, the river was quite high recently, but seems they are all okay.
Flooding water of leith at Dean Village
It is like being in love when you walk through this place. Six years and still takes my breath away
Extremely picturesque part of Edinburgh. We enjoyed a very pleasant walk from Stockbridge (Market)
Picture perfect place of Edinburgh !
This was the village that was the place where the people of Edinburgh were supplied with all their necessities especially bread.
Ancient village now encompassed by the city of Edingburgh, has roots at least back to the 12 century. A former grain mill town, it went into decay with the modernisation of grain milling. It now provides a love walk alongside the Waters of Leith, the Dean Bridge takes you from the mainly Georgian area of Stockbridge to the early Jacobian era once you cross this delightful crossing, which allows a fantastic view of the river walk and former mill buildings. At the southern end if the Bridge lies the quirky Kirkbrea house believed to be a former Inn, as you turn right into the village you are present with homes and buildings spanning several centuries. There are plenty of photo opportunities and a very pleasant walk down by the Waters of Leith, with more industrial buildings, giving clues to the areas heritage, nearby is the Georgian Stockbridge area of Edinburgh, with its wonderful Georgian houses, independent shops and cafes. On Sundays a small makers market is held over looking the river. A must for anyone who likes to come off the normal tourist trail.
Lovely historical part of the city. There is only one village in Edinburgh but then I'm biased as I live there.
Beautiful location and architecture.
?
Great for walking your dog, lots of nature to see along river, Kingfishers & Otters
Highly recommend.
Very peaceful tranquil lovely village to visit.
The views are stunning from the side of the river. The architecture of the buildings is really good and the colours as well, love it.
I come from Edinburgh and love the buildings and history here at Dea Village.
For me it's an splendid experience. One must enjoy the river side walk.
Beautiful walk along the banks of the Water of Leith. Popular for cycling dog walking and many others but with wide paths so not a problem. Has many attractive old buildings and views along the way. Hard to believe your still in the middle of the city.
Some part of the village take you back to centuries. Great views.
Great walk in sunny day
Nice easy running spot with great views, start at Dean Village and head down to Water on Leith towards Murrayfield.
